Narrable

Posted on 08:03 by Unknown
Narrable is a nice site for creating a dynamic slideshow by adding audio to photos.  This is done by uploading photos and either calling into Narrable to add a narration or uploading an audio file.  A finished slideshow can then be embedded into a site/blog or shared via Facebook or email.

I recommend checking out Narrable by clicking here!!

For a more detailed review check out Richard Byrne's award winning blog.

9Slides app

Posted on 07:29 by Unknown
9Slides one of my favorite Web 2.0 websites for adding video/audio narration to a wide variety of presentations has just launched a free iPad app.  This is ideal for mobile learning and any district that uses iPads.  This can be used by either a teacher or student to create a stunning presentation and engage their audience by providing an actual video narration to their presentation.  The free app works w/ a wide variety of presentation styles such as: Adobe, Microsoft PPT, Google Drive, and more.  Another nice feature is the ability to share and track analytical data of your presentation.

I highly recommend checking out 9Slides iPad app by clicking here!!

Presidents vs Aliens

Posted on 10:48 by Unknown
Presidents vs. Aliens is a fun iOS game for learning about the US Presidents.  This is a game that allows players to unlock all the presidents by playing through a variety of games.  Also, this game teaches people about unique facts, nicknames, and more about each president.  Best of all a person can control which types of questions are asked which as ideal for younger students.

I highly recommend checking out President vs Aliens by clicking here!!

Also check out Basher's Presidents for another nice iOS app for learning about the US Presidents.

Timelines.tv

Posted on 13:15 by Unknown
Timelines.tv is a nice little site that I just found out about from Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This is a nice site for History teachers that has 5 wonderful interactive timelines (Britain's history, Small Pox, etc) to explore through.  These timelines contain images, text, and video and a person can view them by chapter as well.

I highly recommend checking out Timelines.tv by clicking here!!!

Dio

Posted on 07:54 by Unknown
Dio is a very cool new (beta) site for creating a interactive environment.  I can see this being used for those interested in programming or game/story development.  It also reminds me a bit of those sites that create choose-your-own adventures such as Inklewriter.  The environment itself is a series of still images that a person can navigate around (Think Myst).  Also, a person can select items to examine (again Myst or 7th Guest) and even collaborate w/ others via a chat window.

I recommend checking out Dio by clicking here!!!

Below is a brief video...

Thanks to Larry Ferlazzo's wonderful blog for the tip!!!

Cometsdocs

Posted on 07:38 by Unknown
Cometdocs is as site I've covered in the past but recently received an email about some new features.  CD is a great free site for people to convert files in a wide variety of formats (up to 30).  Also, users can now store files online, share them w/ others (public/private) and transfer large files (more w/ a paid plan).

I highly recommend Cometdocs by clicking here!!!

Brainy Box

Posted on 07:41 by Unknown
Brainy Box is a new (beta) site that I just found out about from Larry Ferlazzo's blog.  He compares it to a more advanced version of Cube Creator.  This is a very cool site that allows users to add any type of content (text, video, images) to a 3D cube and rotate it anyway they want.  I'm not sure if a user can embed a finished cube but that would be ideal.

I recommend checking out Brainy Box by clicking here!!!
